On Thursday, May 8, 2025, Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-West), was at the Kuwait Embassy where he held a productive meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Salem Al-Muzain.
The meeting, which was conducted in collaboration with the Northwest Governor’s Coordination Desk under the United Nations, was strategically designed to forge a partnership aimed at supporting vulnerable children across the seven states of the Northwest region on education, specifically under Kuwait’s “Reaching Out-of-School Children” (ROOSC) project.
Hon. Yakasai and the Ambassador also explored other areas of cooperation, particularly in agriculture for rural women, so as to boost the attainment of food security—an effort that aligns fully with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Additional areas of interest discussed included the health sector, with special emphasis on:
• Children’s nutrition
• Maternal and infant mortality
• Other communal diseases
This strategic partnership is aimed at improving the lives of people in rural communities, directly targeting the first three Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, namely:
1. No Poverty
2. Zero Hunger
3. Good Health and Well-being
