February 18, 2026 – In a continued push to restore normalcy and prioritize education in communities affected by tragedy, the Federal Government, through the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, has donated essential learning materials to students in the Tudun Biri community of Kaduna State.
The intervention, which took place earlier this week, saw the distribution of free uniforms and exercise books to over 600 students. The distribution was led by Abdullahi Tanko Yakasabi, the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North West Zone). Yakasabi emphasized that the gesture is part of a broader federal strategy to remove financial barriers to education and boost school enrollment in rural areas.
This education-focused recovery effort follows recent infrastructure projects inaugurated by Vice President Kashim Shettima in the community. Those projects were designed to support families still grappling with the aftermath of the tragic drone misfire incident that previously affected the area. By combining infrastructure rehabilitation with educational support, the government aims to restore a sense of normalcy and hope for the future.
Speaking at the event, Yakasabi conveyed the unwavering commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expand people-centered education programs across the North West and beyond. “Our goal is to ensure that no child is left behind due to circumstance,” Yakasabi said. “President Tinubu is determined to remove every barrier to schooling, from the cost of uniforms to the lack of basic supplies.”
Tudun Biri is a rural community in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria. The community continues to benefit from targeted federal interventions aimed at rebuilding lives through education and infrastructure.
