The Presidential Community Engagement Team, led by the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North West), Abdullahi Tanko Yakasabi, yesterday had the distinguished honor of briefing His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the State House, Abuja.
During the high-level meeting, Yakasabi and his team presented a comprehensive report detailing key activities, achievements, and outcomes from their engagements with communities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The presentation offered the Presidency a ground-level view of the administration’s grassroots impact under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a critical segment of the briefing, Yakasabi highlighted major challenges currently facing the North-West region, including the persistent crisis of out-of-school children, rising insecurity, deteriorating infrastructure, and declining social cohesion. These issues, he noted, require urgent and sustained federal intervention to prevent further destabilization of the region’s social and economic fabric.
The discussion provided a valuable platform to share firsthand insights from the field and propose practical, community-driven recommendations aimed at accelerating development and restoring trust at the grassroots level.
In response, President Tinubu commended the team’s dedication and rigorous fieldwork. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and people-centered development. “The voices of all Nigerians, especially those at the grassroots, must continue to shape our national policies and programmes,” the President was quoted as saying.
The briefing underscores the Tinubu administration’s focus on bridging the gap between federal policy and local realities, ensuring that even the most remote communities are heard and supported.
