On September 25, 2025, the Presidential Community Engagement Team—comprising all six Senior Special Assistants to the President on Community Engagement—paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima GCON, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA-80) taking place in New York.

Following the courtesy visit, Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai and his fellow SSAs attended the UNGA General Assembly plenary, where presentations were delivered by Presidents and Heads of Governments from around the world.

The team also participated in other high-level events, including the “SDG Media Zone,” where discussions were centered on the financing of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) programs and the pressing issue of climate change.

The presidential aides rounded up the day by participating in different sessions held at the Nigerian House in Manhattan, further strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and developmental engagement on the global stage.
